Asuu Says, We are ready to resume| FG to release 30 billion naira

From the look of things Asuu strike will be called off next week Monday. 
Thursday’s conciliatory meeting aimed at putting an end to the strike action embarked upon by university lecturers has been adjourned to October 21
“Government, in spite of the Economic downturn as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, brought an offer of N20 Billion (Twenty BillionNaira) layable by the end of January 2021and ASUU agreed to take the offer to its members for consideration and revert by Wednesday 21st October, 2020.”

According to the statement issued by the 

 Asuu Strike To End Very Soon|Meeting in progress, Follow Update 

There was a statement signed and issued yesterday by the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations at the ministry, Mr. Charles Akpan said “Ngige will be hosting a meeting with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday, October 15, 2020”.
From the look of things, the strike is gradually coming to an end!!

The Asuu Strike was a as a result of IPPIS, you probably must have heard about the IPPIS shit, like an integrated pay roll system whereby payments can be monitored. Our lecturers still want to be running multiple jobs so decided to go on strike. 
The strike is effective Monday, 9th of March 2020.



ASUU National President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, announced this at the end of the National Executive Council meeting(NEC) held at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT)
Ogunyemi disclosed that the strike action was to ensure the federal government implement the agreements and resolutions of Memorandum of Action discussed in the 2009 ASUU-FGN agreement, the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
He added that the 2017 Memorandum of Action (MoU)has also not been implemented, reason for its two-weeks strike action
